I've learned a lot for the past one week. Being a translator for the uitm delegation ( who came for the archimedes innovation competition ) and also at the same time - I did learned a lot about the engineering stuff - which in this case , something refreshing since for the past 6 years - learning about medicine , I did reached the "boring level" occasionaly. Even thou it had been a very much exhauting one whole week - I'm very much happy and glad that I managed to give back something to our nation. Plus, it's so happened that Prof Rosli ( in the photo above ) who is the head of the delegation , is a kelantanese. ( for those who didnt know , I'm from Kelantan too )
Through out the competition - me being a translator , I did make a lot of new frens too. This guy ( in the photo above ) is from Croatia. Believe it or not, he's just 15 years old and he has been travelling all around the world - participating in various innovation exhibition. To be able to do that at 15y/o - well , that's totally awesome. Me myself had to wait for 18 years before I travelled by aeroplane for the 1st time.
Maria had been a great help to us during the competition. There were 8 contestants/new innovation from uitm. Therefore, 3 of us ( maria, shida and I ) , needed to keep running around , to translate for those 8 contestants. That pretty much explain the exhaution part. Needless to say thou - being a translator , really was a great oppurtinity for me , to "test" my russian language in the real world. I have no problem speaking russian to the patients becoz that's what I do everyday and I pretty much remember all the sentences by heart. However, to translate - something that is totally out of my playing field - that was a new challenge for me and I really enjoyed myself.
Finally , I would like to congratulate all the contestants from uitm who won during the competition. They did won a lot of medal during the competition and to be able to do that during their first entry , that was an excellent job. Well done !!! The uitm delegation left for Malaysia earlier this morning , I wish them a safe journey back home :)
