good bye 2012

another new year resolution is coming
but before i start writing my 2013 resolution
i did flipped back to my january 1st blog entry
where i wrote my 2012 aims
I have to say ... JOB WELL DONE.
alhamdulillah
tq Almighty Allah for ur blessing
2012 has been great year for me and for my family
a year ago , i would not have thought i have what  i have right now

which make me puzzled
what 2013 has waiting for me?
will 2013 be nice to me? or otherwise? nauzubillah
God has plans for me
and I pray hard to Allah it would be another great year for me

most importantly
i wish for a good health for me and my family
good fortune... great business
loving wife and daugther :)

there were a few bad moments in 2012 which i would not rather mention here
but those pitiful moments are well forgotton


Ya Allah. the Most Gracious , the Most Merciful

forgive all my sins and wrong doings
Thank you for what u have given me
please give me more. A lot more wouldnt hurt
protect me and my family away from trouble , sickness , disease , accidents , bad luck
help me to be a better man , a better husband , a better dad
may baby nia grow up well ,SOLEHAH ,  healthy , prettier
make me closer to You
I pray that by the end of the year i would have my own clinic ( big ameeenn )
and i want to be the cover of men's health or at least Maskulin

euthanasia - must read!

 

EUTHANASIA

not many of us aware of this topic 

why? because it is illegal in our country

the reason i m writing here it is not because i am pro euthanasia

just as a general knowledge to be shared

i came across this issue as i watched the movie " u dont know jack"

last night

the movie is about Dr josh kervokian played by al pacino who practiced euthanasia in michigan USA 

before i go further

what the heck is euthanasia

there are many term , the most famous would be " doctor assisted suicide"

the aim of euthanasia is to end someone life - painlessly and with dignity

Euthanasia is legal in certain state in US and some country in europe

but it is illegal in Malaysia

and it is HARAM in Islam

in places where euthanasia is legal

it is offered and the service is available to terminally ill patients

such as stage 4 cancer patients , patient with severe pain which cannot be relieved by medication and operation.

Patient who has psychiatric disorder are not eligable for euthanasia

euthanasia is done with patient consent 

euthanasia without patient consent is called murder

Dr Josh Kervokian , through out his life had done about 130 euthanasia for different kind of medical causes and reasons.

the public was against him and so does the michigan state

he ended up being jailed for 8 years

he was released on 2007 , and he never regretted doing all those mercy killings

one of the method he used was the lethal injection

when i was in the aneasthesia department .. i am very familiar with the drug used for the lethal injection

basically the drugs used for lethal injection are drugs used to under patient for general anaesthesia before they been cut open .. painlessly

by giving extra dosage... this method should end someone life painlessly

for the lethal injection method

he would use 3 drugs

he starts with intravenous thiopentone to make the patient goes into deep sleep then coma...

after the patient is in coma , he administered the muscle relaxant .. to stop the patient from breathing..

one the patient stops breathing... he will add the xtra dose of pottasium chloride to stop the heart from breathing... then it is the end of that patient life

yesssss... the drugs are available easily in the hospital  , in the operating theater of course.

during the operation.. after we administered the muscle relaxant , we will connect the patient to the ventilator so that the lung will keep breathing :)

technically speaking... the lethal injection method sound painless and easy

but then it is not true

As a muslim.. it was written in hadith.. during our beloved prophet Muhammad SAW was dying.. he felt the extreme pain when the Death angel came to take his life. 

if someone so loved by Allah felt the pain... apa lagi kita manusia biasa kan?

I received a lot of email and messages from houseman
all over malaysia
asking me how to survive housemanship
well , i already answered that question
but still
like it or not
there is no easy way out from housemanship
u have to be patient and smart
u have to keep ur head down
u have to lay low
u have to follow orders
for that 2 years period
u have to be good
in order for u to become a capable doctor in the future

then , once u passed that horrible 2 years period
u are free as a bird
or not
u could continue to suffer hard labour if u still work at the hospital
or u could have a calmer life at the local clinic
it is ur choice
once u choose to be at the small klinik kesihatan
there is no more life saving situation
it is just plain daily life
treating chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetic
doing antenatal check ups
it is a routine job
nothing much
but ur life is pretty much in order
no oncall
no post call stress
and less challenging
to those adrenaline junkie doctors , continue working at the hospital for the rush and life threatening situation!

so yes..
dear housemen
stay put for the first 2 years
it's ur learning period
it's where u will learn a lot of new thing
that's the time when u made a mistake and people cant really blame u
technically u could kill a patient and the court can do nothing about it
u r protected by law!
so enjoy the moment

raising up baby nia - getting a maid

 

maid story

well . raising up a kid nowadays is very costly

nothing new here

for the past one year

i have hired a maid who comes to my mother's house during office hour

to take care of baby nia

we were lucky as she is a local

and live nearby

everything was fine as my parent want baby nia to stay with them as well

technically speaking, mommy and daddy could go to work everyday

without worrying about nia condition

but then

things are about to change

we have to move again somewhere in the near future

and preparation need to be done 

the grannies will be out of reach

the current local maid is out of reach as well

hence we opted to hire a maid

sending nia to day care or nursery is not a preferable choice

as our work schedule is very much unpredictable

the only logical choice available is to get an indonesian maid

which is very costly right now

to get a maid without working permit..

it would cost around rm6000-rm8000

depending on the agency

then , 

to get the permit from putrajaya

that would cost around rm3000 more

total - about rm10k for a maid

the best of it... 

after spending that rm10000

ur maid could just ran away anytime she wants to

no guarantee from the agency after 3 months period

there are rumours some agency told the maid to run back to them after 3 months period

they are making easy money from that

but then ,

that is the fact we have to face

the money spend could just go to waste if the maid choose to ran away

it is the gamble i have to take

to take care of nia

daddy would pay anything

as long as nia is well 

right now 

i am waiting for the maid to arrive

i am praying hard to ALLAH

that she will stay with us for the rest of her contract with us

at least for 2 years

she kissed me

baby nia cant sleep last night
maybebecause she started sleeping too early in the evening

at 5 am today, i noticed she woke up..
she sleeps with us every night

she tried to wake me up..
pushing me...
then she started toying with my face..
i was a bit too tired to play with her at 5 am in the morning
but she still could not sleep
then she started kissing me
yet and still.. i was still too sleepy
worse i took the flu pills as i was having flu

she was so cute
having a beautiful daughter like baby nia is such a blessing to me
that was the most wonderful thing she did
kissing her dad at 5 am in the morning
u make me think of u every single second baby nia

one liter of tear

i am sure a lot of people here have watched the famous this japanese drama entitled " ONE LITER OF TEAR

Basically it is about a girl name AYA who has been diagnosed with spinocerebellar degeneration disease.
what the heck is spinocerebellar degeneration disease ... in short + layman understandable sentence .. ur brain is shrinking and u start losing ur movement and sense.. little by little until u succumbed to death

yeah , it is cruel

I watch the movie when i was still a medical student
it touched my heart and i did cry when watching it
never thought i would see this case coming to my clinic,,

until about a week ago,

a parent brought in their 18 years old daugther to my clinic
she was on the wheel chair
the father came to me and explained the history of the daugther disease

it started when she was in form 5
she suddenly felt at school
after the accident , she cant walk anymore
the condition worsening and effect the whole lower limb
she was brought to the university hospital
MRI was done and the doctors there told the parent that the disease has no cure
they told the parent that their daughter brain is shrinking

the father was dissapointed and skipped the follow up treatment at the hospital
her condition worsening at home..
they finally decided to bring their daugther to doctor again as she was unable to speak and unable to hold stuff with her hands

when she came to me...
i remembered this movie

the parent is having a hard time trying to understand their daugther condition
i cant blame them..
technically speaking.. the disease is worse than cancer
slowly she will lose her motor function
and someday in near future she will stop breathing

my tear dropped as i explained in detail to her father regarding her condition
 he was shocked , as the doctors previously never gave him full coverage regarding her daughter situation...
he bursted into tears as well.

Life is cruel at times
this disease has no cure
she will suffer until the day she died
the mother told that sometimes at night the daughter will cry alone in her room

the father asked me.." doctor , technically , this disease is worse than HIV right ?"
that was the hardest thing for me to answer...
what would u say?
people with HIV could live longer technically...


I pray to ALLAH , to bless the family
she definitely will be in heaven
God has better plan for her
the parents has been through a lot

it remind me..
how thankful i should be
how grateful to God i should be
for the good health ,
for the wonderful family.

my eyes

for the past few weeks
i have been working extra hard
yeah , good life doesnt come easy
trust me on that
unless ur dad is a bloody billionaire

for the rest of us..
it is " kais pagi... makan pagi "
no " kais " , means no money

yes i am a workaholic
i work more than 8 hours per day
i bring my work problems at home
i work while i am on holiday
thank goodness my other half has been patient enough with me
i sleep less than 6 hours per day
which is bad for my health
yes i know ,
i wish i could rest more
and i have a lot of speeding ticket
which is not helpful at all
so , these are the dark side of my life right now

but it doesnt end there
i noticed something wrong with eye sight
it becomes blurry at times
definitely shocking
as i remember doing my eyes test  a few weeks ago
and the machine said my eye sight is perfect
but it is not right now
having trouble focusing at times

most probably due to lethargy
yes , i need a break
need a long rest
need to give my body a holiday
hopefully my eyes is occay - physically
just exhausted perhaps
hope for the best
i hate to end up wearing glasses or contact lens
wish i have perfect eye sight forever
amin , ya ALLAH , please save me from all these trouble

still on AES , NAJIB please hear me out

Dear minister out there
please get rid of the AES
u are causing a lot of trouble to the Rakyat

AES doesnt really save life
they came out with the 70% less accident caused by the implementation of AES ..
it that possible?
most of the accident caused by lethargy , driving under influence , criminals , illegal racing..
dont tell me driving a bit faster by 10 km/h is the main cause of death on the road
seriously
the government is punishing the rakyat really bad with the AES

honestly , i respect the current government
i want them to continue to lead our country
i ll definitely vote for the ruling party right now
but the AES really irritate me
and that little bug could make me change my mind

family moment

a lot of my friends in KL asked me
"dude ... what do u do in kota bharu ? i have been there before and the place is so boring to live for our age..."

well  , i guess he is right
living in Kelantan is quite boring actually
it is a nice place to settle in
to grow up kids
to spend ur elderly life
kelantan definitely the right place to be

but then , for people who love to shop at different malls every week
for people who love to have meal at fine dining restaurant
for couples who enjoy watching movies at the cinema
kelantan is not for u for sure

nonetheless
now matter how boring kelantan is
it is my birth place
it is where i grow up
it is my hometown

we may have not much interesting place to go
the beaches are not as beautiful as they were before...
the waterfalls areas are such an eyesores..

i spend my weekends and free time at the fitness center
with my family
teaching baby nia how to swim
have a nice dinner
then we go back home
sound boring , but we enjoyed it
cherish the family moments
that what matter the most

again and again

for a thousand times
again a long absences from this blogging world
currently busy doing so many thing in life
trying to be a millionaire before i reached 40 years old
yeah , sound impossible
but what the heck,
that's my dream not urs
i can dream anything i want to

well.
when i wrote about anti smoking
nobody seems to care enough
what the heck ,
we all will be dead due to lung cancer
for all those smoker, see u in Hell
surely u have a lot to answer to God  after causing so much harm to other human being

how to look good part 2

-> make it ur job to look good
wonder why all those models look so good and stunning
it is because they earn their living by looking good on the runways
well  , not everyone is a model
and surely not everyone has the attribute to be a model
but then
that is not a reason why we should not be able to look good

if u are  a business man or women
u need to look good to give urselves self confidence
and to make other look up to u
it is a common sense people are more attracted to beautiful people or things


everytime u want to take dinner or any heavy meal .
look in the mirror
do u need the extra fat?
will u be able to wear that gorgeous suit?
what will my customer think of me? a fatty bum bum?

when u dont have the will to hit the gym
go to the mirror again.....
where is my bloody six packs?
how will i look in the class photos?

correlate ur physical condition
and how it will effect ur job
then u will be more serious about how u look!

My dream and hope

I know this would sound a bit gay and girlish
But I m really praying hard for world peace
In my vocabulary, world peace means no tobacco and cigarette

I don't hate smoker
I just prefer them not to smoke

A lot of my friends are smokers, unfortunately for me
I might die sooner than them from lung cancer , being a second hand smokers
Well, we all would

In the clinics ,
I met so many old ladies who came in with lungs complications
The common things about them isis - their husbands are smokers
Yes , the wives suffer more being the second hand smokers

I know all this stories would not the smokers out there from restraining themselves from any kind of tobacco

I just hope.. People who don't smoke.. , be active and advice those smokers from stop smoking... The wives especially. U have the power to ask it husband to stop smoking.. Yeah.. The power is called "tear"
The tear of love. A wife tears could turn the world upside down.

As a doctor, I would be happy if I could advice at least 10 smokers to stop smoking through out my life. There are about 50000 doctors here in Malaysia.. If each doctor could get 10 people to stop smoking... That would be half a million people already.

Half a million people stopped smoking.. That would save our government rm100 million of medical treatment cost to treat bad lungs complicated from cigarette.

Think about it guys .

it is time to move on again
i had my joy and fun at the district hospital
a quick journey indeed
For about 9 months
i have work my ass out at hospital tanah merah
i have paid my due
it is time to go somewhere else

love working there
great enviroment in the operating theater
something i will miss the most

nonetheless , in pursuit of my ultimate dream
i have to move on
i need to go somewhere to learn new thing
meet more people

 i am still young
but i have so many dreams and ambitions

but then... something being bothering me for the past few days

accidently , i watched a cooking show televised by our local station
the station is know for being islamic prone
which is a good thing

anyway ,
the cooking show is called RESIPI SUNNAH
i believe sunnah is referred to something loved by our prophet SAW

yes, it is a great effort by the tv
a big clap
but then ,
during the show i noticed that the host is not properly dressed
when u do something related to our beloved Prophet
kindly close ur aurat..
the host is not wearing her veil properly
thus , revealing a part of her hair and neck
which is an aurat

should anyone has any relation with the tv company
kindly advise them to ask the host to wear the tudung properly
it is an insult to our beloved prophet when someone hosting a show about him..
revealing her aurat..

i know when i post this issue
a lot of people will condemn me..
a lot of people will start looking for my fault
a lot of people will search for my wrong doing

i am not perfect
i am sinful
but i wrote here as a protest
a protest as i felt that our prophet is not being respected enough
and i believe it s wrong
should i not post this entry , i wont be able to sleep well at night

i pray for the best that we could correct the issue here
ask the host to wear the tudung properly

Karpal singh versus Islam

Another shocking news in our politic scenario today
Well.. Not too shocking if u are a politically active

Karpal singh again make his stance clear that he is against hudud and mr nashrudin isa is really pissed off.

Well, technically, every Muslim should be insulted when a non Muslim living in a Muslim country make that kind of comment .
Me myself is insulted and angry by that comment by Karpal singh.

Of course by law he could say that... But that is not the right thing to say in public I believe.

Lets go back to the basic here

The whole point of a lot of Malay who are Muslim supported PAS is mainly because they want an islamic country with islamic laws and regulation. That is what written in the Al Quran and Hadith , full stop. Should PAS really fighting hard for that.. It is compulsory for all Muslim to vote for PAS.

But then...when PAS joined the Pakatan rakyat.. There is no way they could rule the country in the Islamic way should they win the election.
There is DAP and Karpal singh. Hudud is not their best interest and they are against it.

So, what is the differences PAS could bring even if the win the election. By they I mean Pakatan rakyat. Hudud is still impossible if DAP is still around

Hence, pretty much no point of supporting PAS if they could not materialize their manifesto .

Should PKR win the election.. Islam wise ... It will be the same as Barisan nasional ruling the country.
Some might disagree with me.. Bu if u look closely.. Pas is powerless in the PKR .

They said... If u have to choose Btwn two evil... Stick with the one u know...
Currently under Barisan nasional.. Islam is the official religion. Malay man is the prime minister. I live happily in kelantan even thou it is ruled by opposition .

Until PAS can stand on its own .. Hudud is a long way to go.

I would support PAS if they are truly fighting for Islam... But with DAP around... There is no room for Islamic laws should they win.

What irritate doctors?

Well, here in our bolehland
There are 2 types of cases that really irritate us

Number one - mat rempit
These are the most common group of people who visit the emergency department every night. Sometimes I wonder should we treat them... ? The fact that they are the one who is looking or trouble... While there are real sick people who needs out attention and treatment.
This people purposely ride their bike dangerously and causing trouble to fellow road users as well...tell me why should we treat them??

Number 2
Fire cracker victim.
Too much being said about this people..
U are annoying
So many people told u not to play with firecracker .. And here u r crying like a baby when u lost a finger or two..


Anyway...

Guidelines for housmanship survival

Lesson 01

How to avoid extension in ur posting

I have survived housmanship
And I know how to get out from that hell alive and a with a big smile on my face

Occay,
There are a few tricks to survive ur posting without being extended

The fair and correct way of course being an excellent houseman- meaning being punctual , smart, full of knowledge and good attitude
Nonetheless .... These values are hard to find in houseman nowadays

For those dumb heads who do not have those attributes above..
Reads this and learn occay :)

If u want to avoid extension

The most famous way is to be ur boss dog. Owh yeah... I saw a lot of these people during my internship. He or he knows nothing about medical... But he or she can really lick the bosses ass.. Real good...
But be careful... This method can backfire if u have enemy or there are other dogs around..


Trick no 2.

Be invisible . Never show off. Never make stupid thing. Avoid controversies . Follow orders. Never raised ur hand to answer questions by ur specialist. Always attend the cme.. Sit in the middle. Sit in the front.. People will notice u. Sit in the back, people will assume u r a lazy bum. Try to be punctual . Do not do extra work. Just do ur job . By the end of ur posting.. Ur bosses will not realize ur existence. .. U will be released ..

Trick no 3

Occay, this shit really work. I hate to teach u this but it is a magic technique . U won't be loved for this... But u will finish ur internship on time. But please dont do this. It will only destroy ur reputation.
Occay, here u go... Trick number 3... Report to the minister that ur specialist is treating u badly... Surely ur bosses cannot wait to let u go from the department. Maybe u will get off earlier ! I know a few people who did this. Owh yes .. There are housemen out there who do this.. And it worked brilliantly . And u will get an asshole title along the way. These idiotic selfish houseman definitely get away fast and the bosses are sick and tired of swing their faces in the department...



Occay... I think I have revealed enough. A lot of people up there are really piss right now with me telling the whole world the secret of getting out alive from housemanship..

But my true advice .. To all housemen.. Do not follow what i just wrote.. It will only damaged ur reputation. Except for trick number 2. Face it the hard way.. U will become a good doctor eventually....

The good part is everybody is back to their home town to be with their family and loved one for hari raya

But the bad part is happening during the process of people getting there

Accident is very common during this period
Right now I am at the emergency department of my hospital

There was a massive moto vehicle accident just now. A car vs a lorry.
2 death. An elderly and a baby. Right now a little girl is in critical condition.

Please drive carefully everyone.
Do not rush
Do not overtake if u r unsure
Do not drive if u r sleepy or tired
Take ur time to reach to ur destination.
Better be late than sorry

My Baju raya

Well... Looks like I will not be wearing this scrub anymore ... Soon
My days as anaesthetist is ending soon...

As I was browsing thru my wardrobe this morning..
I come across this scrub
Just wore it 2-3 times before
Most of the times we used the scrubs. Provided by the hospital... But I bought a few set of scrubs for my personal use as well
But rarely use it

Maybe after I stop working at the hospital I could use the scrubs as Baju raya

9th gen Honda civic type R

This is the rendering of the ninth generation of the Honda civic type R. According to a car magazine this month, the 9th generation Honda civic which is just being launched a few months ago is Malaysia is the hottest cake heading toward this festive season . The demand is way more than the supply. The waiting list for the honda civic is about 2-3 month currently.

Should honda is to launch the next type R anytime soon, I reckon it must have something more to offer compare to the current type R which produce around 200hp. Honda should be aiming for 240-250hp for this 9th gen type R. The price should be slightly expensive ... The current one retailing at 199k... Maybe the next one should cost 10k more.


Anyway.. Let's wait and see for the real next type R. But it definitely will look something like this..but the specs is the biggest mystery and surprise ..
